Polk Audio

One of the best electronics brands to come out of American soil is no doubt Polk Audio. Polk Audio products, for the better part of the last 30 years have been hailed critically by hardware reviewers, and enthusiasts to be the best in audio technology, innovation, and performance. Their brand name and best products have constantly graced covers of prominent electronics magazine such as Popular Mechanics and Consumer Electronics, where on the latter Polk Audio consistently earned industry praise.

Right from the very first step, Polk Audio’s future was tightly intertwined with car audio. This became evident when one of the first ever Polk Audio product to receive wide acclaim was the 6.5 inches component/co-axial convertible system Signature Reference System Polk Audio 6500. This is the product which Car Audio & Electronics magazine proclaimed as “…the best performance, the best engineered and the best cosmetics…” in its class.

Polk Audio has ever since been winning acclaims and forging more than 55 patents for innovations and improvements in subwoofer performance and technology, for both mobile audio and home theater use. One of their most recent endeavors is the I-Sonic Entertainment System, along with several other product lines.

Here are some more topics about Polk Audio, and Polk Audio subwoofers you might find interesting.

The Polk Audio MOMO Series

It was sometime in 1999 when engineers of Polk Audio began to collaborate with MOMO (Moretti-Monza), an Italian design company that made accessories for cars. What came out from the partnership was an extensive line of quality car audio products, whose designs and concepts were heavily inspired by Euro racing and Formula 1, which were gobbled up hungrily by a wide market of car enthusiasts. Styling provided by MOMO and expertise of loudspeakers and amplifiers provided by Polk Audio the co-branded Polk Audio/MOMO car audio subwoofers is one of Polk Audio’s best product line.

What It Is: A 10 Inch Championship Performance Component Subwoofer

Ultra-stiff “Metalized” Polypropylene Dynamic Balance Cone? Dish Cone design is supported by a Vented Cone Coupler? State-of-the-art laser-based Klippel measurement technology? If all these specs mean anything to you, it should tell you that this 10 inch bass is designed to pound the roof of you car. Forget Kevlar, Polypropylene is the best material anyone will ever get for the cone relative to the price. The cone design is to increase axial rigidity, thus no need for exotic (overhyped and very expensive) materials like Kevlar. The Kippel measurement will centers the voice coil in the magnetic field, so as to say it improves BL linearity and X-max along with the subwoofer’s macro/micro dynamics. Turn this on; you’ll be surprised how much mass can a bass sound have. This sort of bass can change your heartbeat.

The Polk Audio SR Series

The SR Series is Polk Audio’s most exclusive line of subwoofers, enough said. Made with the intention of satisfying even the most jaded audio enthusiast, Polk Audio made it especially strong and loud and capable. In the spring of 2005, Polk Audio introduced the magnificent array of ‘loud’ loudspeakers, and the standard over loudspeakers became then forever changed.

The SR Series still features the winning component/coaxial system that made SR6500 Signature Reference as part of car audio history. The same principles are applied to the SR Series.

Polk Audio SR104

What it is: Probably Polk Audio’s best component subwoofer, this 10 inch single voice coil subwoofer hits so hard you will swear it produces sonic waves.

This Polk Audio car subwoofers features an ABS Cone that employs the patented catenary geometry technology for greater distortion damping stiffness, with the Klippel Distortion Analyzer that helps maximize linearity, minimize distortion, flatten and extend frequency response. A factory strength die cast aluminum basket houses the entire subwoofer structure. Why such structural strength, you ask? That’s because this model rocks car, practically speaking.

I can recommend you still plenty of Polk Audio subwoofers here, but it’ll take like forever. There’s so much to recommend with the Polk Audio brand name.
