MA Audio MA1200XL 12 Inch Dual 4 Ohm Subwoofer

What it is: Probably the best audio material from MA Audio. From engineering, designs, and technology, to its price, it’s a winner in every way.

If you know your stuff, at first glance you’d recognize that this MA Audio component is made to deliver. First, it has heavy duty non pressed Paper Cone wrapped by reinforced ribbed high foam surround, a technology exclusive to MA Audio. This cone technology allows the deepest and the lowest bass possible on a standard 12 inch subwoofer. The high foam surround and the ultra strong polypropylene dust cap also makes the product even better, allowing cone excursion without breaking the subwoofer apart. There is this patented Thermo-Cooling motor structure makes every segment cool, even those copper clad aluminum voice coil wire. Structural strength is given by the newly patented black die cast metal basket. Then there is a dual progressive Dupont spider, the Kapton high temperature voice coil former, double stacked strontium magnets,
Platinum Plated Block Terminals, and rubber sealant gasket.

What it is: This is the most powerful car subwoofer in the MA Audio line. Warning, it may be too loud for you.

This MA Audio 15” subwoofer has a sensitivity of 90 decibels at 1w/1m, an RMS power range of 2k watts, peak power handling of 4k watts and an impedance of 2 ohms. It has the diameter of 15 inch, a mounting depth of 9 3/8 inches and a mounting diameter of 14 ½ inches. The vented box has a volume of 5 cubic feet, the port is 48 square inches long, and the alternate sealed box has a volume of 2 to 2 ½ cubic feet. A dual 2 ohm on an aluminum round wire choice coil with a high temperature Kapton voice coil former, the 400 oz. of double stacked Strontium Magnets, and a patented thermo cooling motor structure.

Like the former 12 inch MA Audio subwoofer, this subwoofer features dual layer pressed carbon fiber cone, for performance, rigidity and strength without being high priced. It has a bumped back plate, high roll triple layered ribbed surround, and an ultra strong carbon fiber dust cap, all to afford maximum cone excursions without breaking apart.

It’s hard not to recommend the MA Audio subwoofers to anyone. That is because MA Audio manufactures among the best in audio products. Technologies that can rival top end expensive brands yet remain relatively cheap that it’s affordable even for those college car audio enthusiasts.
