Kenwood
Kenwood was founded in 1946 carrying the name “Kasuga Radio Co. Ltd.”. The name was changed to “Trio Corporation” in 1960. This period brought about significant innovations for the company. They manufactured “oscilloscopes”, which was an electronic device that allowed viewing of signal voltages –their most popular unit being “10MHz CS-1562A”. By 1963, Kenwood USA was founded in Los Angeles, CA. It was the first “overseas” office of the Trio Corporation.
Kenwood pioneered Japan’s first solid-state amplifier and FM tuner. In 1981, they introduced amplifiers that incorporated video and audio signal switching. This product is distinguished to be the forerunners of the “home cinema” systems of today. By 1984, the company designed and produced the first “anti-theft” car stereo receivers. Trio-Kenwood turned into Kenwood Corporation in 1986.
Introducing its “Sovereign” components product line in 2001, Kenwood’s high-end product line contends with other manufacturer’s prestige brands such as Sony ES, Pioneer Elite, Matsushita Technics, and Onkyo Integra. Kenwood’s “eXcelon” car audio product competes with Sony and Pioneer brands.
Among the notable product line of the company is its car audio systems. The Kenwood car CD player provides excellent features that make car entertainment simply outstanding. Check out these Kenwood CD players:
