Since its inception in 1968, Infinity has grown into one of the finest audio component manufacturer with a global scope. Loudspeakers for both home, theater and mobile or car use have been in constant innovation with Infinity. Best known as the innovators of materials such as neodymium magnets, polypropylene cone, of several audio techniques like multi-channel surround materials and in-wall speakers. The proof of their standards becomes the Hyundai – Kia Automotive Group’s and Chrysler’s OEM choice of usage of the Infinity audio systems in all their brand new vehicles.
Can you trust the brand name Infinity as your choice for car audio? Of course you should. When car manufacturers themselves chose one particular brand product, it comes with a real good reason. These mega corporation trust Infinity, why won’t you?
Infinity owes their car audio expertise in their vast experience as audio systems providers on concert halls, cinemas, theaters and home use. In the rising trend of the “louder the better”, with Infinity on your trunk you just don’t hear their subwoofers, you feel the thump.
Here are some Infinity car subwoofers I find very interesting.
Infinity BassLink II
10” Powered Subwoofer With Passive Radiator
Yeah it’s powered. But guess what, this Infinity powered subwoofer is great in another way of viewing things, that there’s no pretense of racking and mounting and wiring everything. Many people do it the wrong way anyway. It’s better to be powered than have a component subwoofer but didn’t sound that good due to some miscalculations. If your one of “those guys” who seems to think that powered speakers are for noobs because amplification always fall short of rack mount amp quality, then this Infinity will make your excuses nonsense.
The Infinity Basslink powered subwoofer is 10” square woofer with a 10” square passive radiator. The system gets powered by a 250 watt Class D amplifier. It has 4 channel inputs, which can be used in combination for a desired effect.
So what’s the overall likeability of this Infinity Bass system? If you want something that can be fitted in a jiffy, if you want something that doesn’t consume much space, if you want a subwoofer variety that sounds clean and nice in loud volumes while also provides punching power on heavy bass, the Infinity BassLink II is for you. It costs around $400.
Infinity Reference
12” 4-Ohm Subwoofer
Its only 12”, barely larger than you foot. But guess what, this Infinity Reference probably thumps harder than your foot, or any foot on that matter. The Infinity Reference is a dwarf with a large mouth. No, better yet, a large mouth and a large belly so that all sound that comes out will be only deep, rich bass.
This time, it’s a component, so if you’re doing it for a DiY, the good news is that you’d probably need only this one as subwoofers. No matter what kind of music you listen, this subwoofer can deliver. You want a cool, clear and loud bass on your jazz, the Infinity Reference more than meets the eye. If you want a boom, this little baby can thump hard enough if you want it to. You’d be surprise how a 12” subwoofer can manage to rock your ride, don’t say we didn’t warn you.
Being in the mainstream for long, Infinity surely does a fine job providing consumers of what they want. And surprising too, they manage to provide for every single detail of need with only a few designs. Like the two Infinity sub woofers I’ve stated. The first one perfects the need for a casual music loving ride, fulfilling requirements without adding extra weight. Costs more naturally since it comes with its own enclosure. The latter fulfills every serious enthusiast’s need for skull jarring sound waves.
