Hip-hop, R&B, Techno music are very well-liked music among the young and the “energetic”. These music genres usually express not only the “in” thing in music, but most artists also portray a different “fashion” statement that associates their style to their music. This “style” together with their music creates a package that the younger age groups are keen on. One can hear hip-hop, R&B, techno music nearly everywhere, and are favorite tunes playing in people’s car stereos.

Hip-hop music also called “rap music” is a music style that emerged in the US in mid-1970. It turned into a big part of the contemporary pop culture in the 80’s. It is made up of two key components, the DJ’ing and the rapping. Together with hip-hop dancing and the “urban” inspired art, the hip-hop music became popular. Generally, hip-hop music has rhythmic music that uses techniques such as assonance, rhyme, and alliteration.

The “rapper” is joined by instrumental tracks or the “beat” done by a DJ, and created by producers or instrumentalists. In the past, hip-hop beat was often made using a sample of “percussion break” of other songs, typically soul and funk music were used. However, in the past few years, the built has been built up from separate drum samples. Additionally, there are other sounds performed, synthesized, or sampled aside from the beat itself. A times, a hip-hop track can be only instrument that showcase the skills of a producer or DJ.

R&B music or “Rhythm and Blues” is a well-liked music genre that combines the influences of blues, jazz, and gospel. They were first done by African-American artists. The name R&B music was invented as a “musical marketing” term in 1947 in the US. It replaced its original term “race music” as it was seen offensive.

In the 70’s, “rhythm and blues” was used as a “blanket term” to depict funk and soul. Today, R&B acronym is virtually always used as a substitute for the full term of “rhythm and blues”. The typical term of R&B refers to today’s contemporary version of funk and soul influenced pop music that is also somewhat popular.

R&B was among the forerunners of “rock and roll”. The majority of R&B musicians were musicians of jazz music. The 50’s was the “premier decade” of R&B. The music partly covered other genres such as rock n’ roll and jazz, and developed local variations.

Techno Music is a type of “electronic dance music” that developed prominently in the mid-1980 in Detroit, Michigan. It had influences form electro, Funk, futuristic, new wave, and Chicago House fiction themes that were relative and widespread in modern culture during that time.

Its invention is greatly owed to DJ Ben Russell that first appeared in a local Detroit radio. Although he didn’t continue his career, a lot of bands took up the beat, starting a type of Techno as it is today.

With the first hit of “Detroit Techno” as a local music culture, an increased and related subgenres emerged internationally in the 90’s. The name techno is taken from “technology” that generally refers to every form of dance and electronic music in Australia and America.

Techno music features a profusion of synthetic, percussive sounds, and “studio effects’ that are used as the main instrumentation. Several techno compositions contain strong bass lines and melodies; although these aspects aren’t essential to the music like other genres are. This type of music has also been found to be “DJ-friendly” as they’re mainly instrumental. They have been created with intentions of being integrated with constant DJ sets.

Hip-hop, R&B, techno music are among today’s most popular music genres. It’s rhythmic and upbeat sound makes it a constant favorite of a lot of people.
